Well the Catholic faith is not mentioned in any aspect through God, Jesus, or church. It seems as though this is a version of America in the not so distant future that was engulfed in chaos and corruption. As the government became more like overlords and the people servants, the people began to pray to God to help them. With there prayers unanswered, they give up and abandoned the faith.
There seems to not be any religion at all. The Capitol appears as the place in power. They have no faith whatsoever. Their world desn't even have hope because so many die.
There is no real religion practiced in this novel possibly because the author does not want to offend other religions or maybe is making a point that the Capitol is (or should be) the main focus of all citizens of Panem. The people of Panem show no signs of practiced religion and like District 12, are mostly thinking of survival before anything else.
There has been no mention of religion what so ever. The way Panem is ran is completely against the values of the catholic faith because people killing each other for entertainment must be forbidden.
There are absolutely zero circumstances involving catholic faith! In God's eyes, Everyone is sacred, everyone is to live their lives until God decides there duty is complete. The Capitol is killing people in Panem for the entertainment of the people. This is completely against all forms of catholic belief.
If a true, devout catholic were to participate in the hunger games, they wouldn't kill anyone, because murdering people is a mortal sin. No aspect of religion is mentioned so far, and I doubt that anything regarding faith will be mentioned. I highly doubt there are any catholics living in the capital, because one of their favorite form of entertainment is watching kids kill each other. That is a pretty far shot from catholic, or even moral.
